Navratri Festival 2021

We are delighted to share with you all information about the upcoming LCNL Navratri celebrations that we can confirm will take place at the Dhamecha Lohana Centre from Thursday 7th October to Friday 15th October followed by Sharad Poonam on Wednesday 20th of October.

We have a restricted capacity due to COVID and will only be selling 600 public tickets for each night. We want the event to run smoothly and look after everyones health and safety but at the same time do not want to put people that want to attend the event off coming. Therefore, we ask that you take precautions if you are attending the event but will not force anyone to do anything. We just ask that if you feel unwell or have symptoms that you do not attend. If you do not feel comfortable attending then you will be able to watch some parts of the event at home on Zoom and Facebook.

Tickets:

Tickets are now onsale and we have only sent this email to LCNL Members for now to give you priority chance of getting tickets. On Wednesday 29th of October the information will be pushed out on facebook and other places to the general public. So get in fast and purchase your tickets. With there being a limited number of tickets, we ask that you collect your tickets and pay for them in advance rather than on the door. Therefore please contact the nearest person to  you listed below and arrange to collect your tickets as soon as possible.

With a lot of other venues also on restricted capacities or not celebrating Navratri this year we expect demand for all days to be high and so please do get your tickets as soon as possible.

Aarti Yajman:

As always, you can also be an Aarti Yajman for any day of the event. The cost of this varies depending on the day:

  • £501 for Fridays and Saturdays
  • £251 for Sunday, Aatham and Poonam
  • £151 for Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

All Yajmans (apart from the online yajman) will get 10 complimentary tickets to the event on the night that they sponsor. We will only have space in the hall for 5 yajmans on any one evening and so again if you would like to be an aarti Yajman please contact any of the ticket sellers listed above or Pratibhaben Lakhani – 07956 454 644 or Vinubhai Kotecha – 07956 847 764.

Online Yajman:

If you can not make it to the hall or would like to be an online yajman then you can do this at a cost of £101. You will not get any tickets for this but if you join on zoom, we will try to spotlight you and your name will be listed as one of the sponsors too. To be an online Yajman please contact Ronak Paw on 07803 589 429.

Colour Themes:

We would love everyone to join in with our colour schemes and have listed the days colours below:

  • Day 1 – Thursday 7th – Green
  • Day 2 – Friday 8th – Orange
  • Day 3 – Saturday 9th – Purple
  • Day 4 – Sunday 10th – Yellow
  • Day 5 – Monday 11th – Peacock
  • Day 6 – Tuesday 12th – Pink
  • Day 7 – Wednesday 13th – Red
  • Day 8 – Thursday 14th – Multi Coloured
  • Day 9 – Friday 15th – Blue
  • Poonam – Wednesday 20th – White

Competitions:

As always, we will have some competitions! On Tuesday 12th October we will have dance competitions with prizes for the best Garba and Dandia dancers. Then on Thursday 14th we have a competition for the best dressed.

Stalls:

There will be a small selection of stalls in the blue room at DLC. If you would like to have a stall the cost is £50 a night or £250 for the ten nights of Navratri including Poonam. If you would like to have a stall please contact Dhiru Savani on 07956 492 825 or Ronak Paw on 07803 589 429.

Other Info:

We will allow everyone to bring in one sealed bottle of water but no other drinks or full refillable containers will be allowed in. There will be a canteen in the downstairs hall where you can buy food and drinks. We will restrict the number of chairs in the upstairs hall this year to allow people to spread out but will be having chairs in the blue room along with screens for people that want to sit down.

Also, the YLS Kids Garba tickets are sold out but you can purchase tickets for the Mahila Ladies Garba that is on Saturday 9th of October. Look out for more information on this shortly.
