The youth group was set up in 2018 as a social & cultural
platform for the 13- to 19-year-olds, also to bridge the gap
between the YLS and kids club whilst encouraging and
streamlining the transition into YLS and ultimately LCNL. Since
being established, the youth group team have organized
various events ranging from serving the homeless in
conjunction with the Jalaram Mandir, bowling, karaoke, Diwali
dinner & dances, Christmas gatherings and our popular day
       trips to Thorpe Park!

Throughout lockdown, along with many other talented performers, our very own
youth member, DJ Barai, now aged 16 was brought in by the digital team to
provide online entertainment through social media platforms to 1000’s of LCNL
members which was very much needed for the mental health and wellbeing of
many, especially the youth. As we now emerge from the challenging times, our
aim is to focus on building a stronger platform for the youth club and expanding
our grass root initiatives to ensure the youth have a sense of belonging within our
       community.

We are looking to enhance on the digital success that has now become an
integral part of our daily lives, engaging with the youth and the parents. We are
excited to announce the youth group team recently set up an online Gujarati
speaking summer school which currently has classes running 3 times a week to
       accommodate the demand.

As restrictions are li ed, the youth group team plans on hosting many more
successful social events starting with Seva days in the upcoming weeks, we aim
to o er golf tournaments, family Diwali dinners & Christmas socials along with

various other interactive and fun events to keep our youth engaged over the
course of the next 2 years.
We shall maintain close links with YLS and work together to embrace
opportunities and transition for our older members. If you have children aged 13
to 19 and would like to join our youth group, please contact me directly on 07479

ideas or would like to support our youth group with future events, please feel free
to contact any LCNL committee member with your suggestions.
Look forward to meeting some old n new faces over the coming months.
