A very warm welcome to the August 2021 edition of the News
& Events.
I wish to sincerely thank our President, Dinesh Sonchhatra and
the entire team at LCNL for entrusting me again for a further
term, with this task. I feel extremely honoured and privileged
to continue serving our community in this important role.
The current pandemic crisis has taken its toll on all of us,
one way or the other and it has had a drastic impact on our daily routines,
including how the LCNL Events are held. As we were forced to adjust to life with
the challenges around us, our behaviours and habits have also changed. With
the recent li ing of the lockdown and changes to the mandatory rules, it will be
intriguing to see the actual impact of though encounters faced by all individuals,
including organisations and industries. However, I am extremely proud to report
that LCNL have adopted extremely well during these demanding, unfamiliar and
de ant times. Technological means to communicate with our members helped
us through and innovative concepts were implemented along the way.
It takes a lot of people to produce a good quality magazine and I wish to
wholeheartedly thank all the contributors, including the Executive Committee
for their help and input with the content. As ever I am sincerely grateful to Steve
Berwick, our Graphic designer and Sanjiv at Liquid Bubble for always being so
supportive and accommodating. Above all I wish to genuinely thank all our
advertisers for their continued support and generosity, particularly during these
extraordinarily di cult times.

On paper we have a very busy period for all our members over the next few
months starting with Janmashtami, followed by Navratri and other events leading
up to Diwali. The format of these, along with the actual event taking place will

depend on the ongoing and ever-changing o cial guidelines. As always, we
at LCNL try to cater for as many age groups as possible and various events
connected with Diwali are just some of them.
My very best wishes to you all for the forthcoming festive season, please take
care, stay safe and well.
