It is my pleasure to share my very best wishes for Diwali with the Lohana Community of
the United Kingdom.

This colourful festival, celebrated by millions across the country and around the world,
celebrates light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. It represents the bringing
together of families, faiths and communities to recognise that universal values are central
to a model way of leading life.

Diwali is a festival that allows us to honour the cultural diversity of our country, as well as
mark the fantastic contribution made by the Hindu and other communities. This enriching
impact is felt across our society today and has been for years gone by.

I sincerely hope that your Diwali celebrations will bring joy and happiness to everyone in
the Lohana community and all those marking this occasion. I have no doubt that the true
spirit of Diwali will shine through these festivities, making them memorable and bright.

I wish you all a happy Diwali and a joyous new year.
