LCNL Table Tennis
The LCNL Table Tennis Club is thriving again post-lockdown and members meet at RCT Hall every Sunday from 9.00 am to
1.00 pm for practice sessions. Those interested in playing can contact Jay Khatri on 07956 145518 or Kirit Rughani on 07539
226 946. We have had many juniors join us this year and we encourage more under-18s to come forward; the Club are looking
to offer professional coaching again in due course.
The LCNL TT Club have two teams in the Wembley and Harrow League where they play against other TT clubs in the local
area. Kirit Rughani is captain of the A Team who are in Division 5 and they reached the Final of the Harry Finch Plate match
last season – well done! Jay Khatri is captain of newly formed B Team who made entry into Division 7 in the forthcoming
winter league. Good luck to both teams!
Our founder member and President of the Club, Jayantibhai Kotecha, has appointed Neil Morjaria as the new President to
take the club forward. Jayantibhai will continue to attend practice sessions, committee meetings and advise the club as and when
required. All members thank Jayantibhai for his dedication, guidance and support over the years.
Other Committee appointments include Jay Khatri (Membership Coordinator), Kirit Rughani (League Coordinator), Ashvin
Shonchhatra (Treasurer), Pratik Karia and Nitin Kakad (both Committee Support). The committee and members thank
Manubhai Kotecha, another founding member and former Secretary, for his continued guidance and commitment to the Club
and Committee over the years. We also thank Bhargaw Buddhdev for his work and efforts as Club Secretary on the committee
over the last year and we wish him well in his retirement.
In July 2022, the Club took 35 players, including 7 juniors, to Wellingborough to compete against Highfield Table Tennis Club,
an annual ritual, in what was an exhilarating tournament and memorable day starting with breakfast at 9am and ending with a
full dinner at 6.30pm. Well done to Ryan Tailor for winning the main trophy and all who participated! (Photos below)
We are grateful to Jayantibhai Kotecha and family of Integral Memory plc for donating the trophies for the tournament and
also for sponsoring the Club shirts along with Dineshbhai Shonchhatra of Major Estates.
The Club committee also helped LCUK organise the table tennis tournament as a part of the Lohana Sports Day Festival that
took place at RCT Hall on Sunday 28th August 2022. This event was popular and proved very successful and was won by Shae
Thakker and the runner up was Himanshu Ganatra from Wellingborough.
